Prof. Dr. Gülay Hasdoğan

She graduated from METU’s Department of Industrial Design in 1985 and got her MSc from METU’s  Department of Building Science, PhD from Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design in London. During 1996-1998 and 2006-2010 she was the Chairperson of the Board of Industrial Designers Society of Turkey, where she is also a founding member.  On 1997-98 she was the Deputy Dean of Faculty of Architecture and later, between 1998-2004 the Head of Department of Industrial Design. In 2008, as a member of the Executive Committee of Design Turkey Industrial Design Awards, to which IDST was a project partner, she coordinated the evaluation process and enhanced the award system. Currently she is the Head of Department of Industrial Design and Associate Professor in METU and is teaching Design Research Methods and Graduation Project courses. She has publications on institutionalization of industrial design, design education and user models in design.
