Born in 1944 in Istanbul, Timur ERK has a degree in Chemical Engineering from Germany. He has been engaged in the chemicals industry since 1971, and is a founding member of the Turkish Chemical Industrialists Society, where he served as a member of management for years. He was deputy president until being elected president on February 23, 2000, after which he served for 18 years. He is currently the Honorary President of the Turkish Chemical Industrialists Society. In addition, he is the President of the TOBB Chemicals Industry Assembly and Co-Chair of the Chemicals Industry Platform. 

 

Timur ERK is the current Founding President of the Turkish Kidney Foundation, former Presidents of the Society for Disadvantaged Children of Turkey, the Turkish Heart Foundation and SEDEFED (Federation of Sectoral Organizations), a Board member of TÜRKONFED (Turkish Entrepreneurship and Business Confederation), Deputy Chair of TÜSEV (Turkish Third Sector Foundation), and a member of the Turkish Olympics Committee. 

 

Furthermore, Timur ERK is the President of the International Federation of Kidney Foundations (IFKF). 

 

Timur ERK is married with one son.
