He has played active roles in various environmental, professional and social organizations, served as a board of trustees member of the Avrasya Bir Foundation, the power behind Turkey's first policy institute ASAM (Center for Eurasian Strategic Studies), and was a founding board of directors member of the Turkish Plastics Foundation, notable for donating two technical vocational schools in Gebze, Kocaeli and Halkalı, Istanbul. He is currently the Honorary President of the Consumer Appeals Office and a board of directors member of the Istanbul Environmental Council.

 

As an advocate of the Consumer Protection Law adopted in Turkey in 1995, he closely monitors implementation and has been involved in building legislation in consultation with national banking and telecommunications authorities to resolve consumer issues observed in banking and electronic communication in the last decade.

 

Ağaoğlu has been contributing to advancing consumer rights and building consumer awareness in Turkey for 25 years.
