Graduated from Boğaziçi Üniversitesi, Business Administration Faculty in 1986 and joined to Anadolu Kredi Kartları A.Ş. which was a Pioneer of credit card business in Turkey. Later joined to Standard Chartered Bank İstanbul, Westdeutsche Landesbank’ın Istanbul and Moscow branches as trader/treasurer.

 

Between 1998-2002 worked as treasurer in Egebank and just after merger of 6 ceased banks acted as founding treasurer of “Birleşik Sümerbank” under SDIF (Savings Deposit Insurance Funda-TMSF). Under SDIF managed and consulted first ever done deposit transfer auctions from ceased banks to operating banks and also asset management structures of non-performing loans. 

 

Ağaoğlu, consulted to corporates about distressed assets, managing the risks in financial and commodity markets after 2002 and onwards. Joined to Socar Türkiye which is State oil Company of Azerbaijan, in 2015 and still responsible of treasury function as Treasury Group Director. 

 

Active in media as editor-in-chief of Fortune Türkiye between 2009-2013, financial markets commentator between 2010-2013 in CBNC-e and BloombergHT between 2014-2018.  Since 2004 daily columnist in Vatan and Milliyet newspapers and lecturer in Kültür Üniversitesi about financial markets. 

 

Married and has a daughter.
