Demirhan Küçük

TURKEY ENVIRONMENT AGENCY Deposit Management System Director

Demirhan Küçük works at the General Directorate of Environmental Management, Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change.  In 2003, he graduated from Samsun 19 Mayıs University, Department of Environmental Engineering. After working as an Environmental Engineer in a private Environmental Laboratory in 2004-2005, he worked as an Environmental Engineer at Ankara Provincial Directorate of Environment and Forestry / Urbanisation between 2006-2014, and as an Environmental Engineer at the Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change General Directorate of Environmental Management Packaging Waste Management Branch Directorate between 2014-2018. Between 2019 and 2021, he served as Branch Manager at the General Directorate of Environmental Management Zero Waste and Packaging Waste Management Branch Directorate. Since 2021, he has been working as the Director of Deposit Management System at the Turkish Environment Agency. 

His professional work background is based on the local implementation of environmental legislation and he has been involved in waste management practices and Extended Producer Responsibility practices. He has been actively involved in the Zero Waste Project, which was implemented by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change in 2017, and in the studies on future environmental management practices (Zero Waste Regulation, Recycling Participation Share, Deposit Return Systems for Packaging and Some Other Products, Management of Single Use Plastics, etc.) within the scope of this project.
