Dr. Hakkı Gürsöz

President, Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency

He was born in Çorum on 21.09.1975. He completed secondary education in Çorum Anatolian High School and Polatlı High School. He received the Doctor of Medicine title in 2001, graduating from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine. He started Economics in Anadolu University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences in 2011, and completed in 2015. He is doing master’s degree from Hacettepe University Department of Community Health and Barcelona Pompei Fabra University Department of Health Economics.

He served as head doctor at Kırıkkale 4th Central Community Clinic between 2001-2003, Erzurum 7th Mechanized Infantry Brigade Command Infirmary between 2003-2004, and Kırıkkale 4th Central Community Clinic between 2004-2005.

In 2005, he attended and passed an interview by the Ministry of Health, and was accepted to Hygiene School Directorate. Previously a technical personnel, he continued his career at the Ministry as Deputy Director of Hygiene School after 2007. He was an advisor to the Minister of Health between 2010-2012.

In March 2012, he was selected as Deputy Director for the foundation of Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency. Dr Hakkı Gürsöz was Economic Assessment and Information Management Deputy Director between 2012-2013, Support and Laboratory Services Deputy Director in 2014, and Drugs and Pharmacy Deputy Director in 2015. He has been General Director since July 2016.

Dr Hakkı Gürsöz has a good command of English. He is married with three kids, namely Kerem, Fatma Sena and Mehmet Furkan.
