Dr. Orhan Irmak
Orhan Irmak Tasarım, Creative Director
Dr. Orhan Irmak graduated from the Middle East Technical University, Department of Industrial Design in 2000 as the top student of his cohort. In 2003 he earned his MFA from Bilkent University. In 2011 he received his PhD degree from Istanbul Technical University. His thesis on “Development Patterns of Packaging Design in Turkey since 1945” was published in 2015. Dr. Orhan Irmak regularly attends panels and conferences as a guest speaker and acts as a jury member for design competitions.
In 2004 Dr. Orhan Irmak founded Orhan Irmak Tasarım with his partner Gökhan Irmak. Since then, he has been the Design Director of the agency. Orhan Irmak Tasarim works with global brands from Turkey and abroad, and specifically focuses on branding and creative packaging design. To date, Orhan Irmak Tasarım has received more than 50 awards in national and international design competitions on packaging design including Red dot, Pentawards, WorldStar and Design Turkey. The agency is a member of GLBA - Global Local Branding Alliance.In addition to its Istanbul office, GLBA also has offices in New York, Berlin, Shanghai, Moscow, Sao Paulo and Johannesburg.
